cPanel License Price Change: What You Need to Know
(Last Updated On: July 19, 2021)
If you’re a HostPapa customer, you should be familiar with cPanel. Even if you’re hosting your website with another provider, it’s likely you’ve used cPanel either way, as it’s one of the most popular control panels.
On June 27, 2019, without any warning, cPanel announced a significant price increase for its licenses. Despite plenty of negative feedback, cPanel is sticking to their decision, claiming that their hardware was upgraded since their last price announcement.
Like all of cPanel’s partners, HostPapa was affected by this change forcing us to revise and update our Reseller plans.
The cPanel price increase became official on September 1, 2019. However, HostPapa was one of the few companies that managed to get a two-month delay to ensure a smooth transition for our customers. To give you time to readjust, the changes to HostPapa’s Reseller plans will start rolling out on October 1, 2019, and come into full effect on November 1, 2019.
Here’s what you need to know about the changes to the Reseller plans:
- Disk space allocation was increased for all plans. Additionally, from now on your data will be stored exclusively on modern SSD drives.
- The amount of bandwidth was increased for each Reseller plan as well.
- CPU allocation was increased and now goes from 4 cores to 12, depending on the Reseller plan.
- RAM allocation went up as well, now going from 3 to 32 across the plans.
Due to the cPanel price increase, all Reseller plans now include a limited amount of cPanel accounts. To view the detailed information regarding the resources, please visit our Reseller page.
If you currently have a Reseller plan with HostPapa, our PapaSquad team will reach out to you proactively and assist with any applicable changes, migrations, and so on. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out via email at sales(at)hostpapasupport.com
