To host your own mail server with another provider for the domain in your account, you have to define the mail server names as Mail Exchange or MX records.
Updating MX Records
Before you start:
- You should know the name of the mail server and its priority level.
- DNS updates can take up to two hours to take effect.
- Login to Account Manager.
- Select the domain that you want to edit from the drop down under My Domain Names. Click the Go button.
- Select Change Where Domain Points in the green box.
- Select Advanced DNS and click Continue.
- Click Edit MX Records in the Mail Servers (MX Records) section.
- The current MX records are listed and can be edited.
- Add or edit the MX record in the Mail Server text box. Enter or edit the corresponding priority number in the Priority text box.

- Click Continue.
- Review the list of requested changes.
- Click Continue.
