Why display a YouTube video?
YouTube is a very popular video-sharing website. It allows users to upload, view, and share videos. YouTube uses Adobe Flash Video and HTML5 technology to display user-generated and corporate media videos.
You can use YouTube on your website to:
- Show visitors a video of your products and services.
- Attract viewers from all over the world to visit your site.
- Tell your customers about your latest products and services.
The built-in YouTube Application makes it easy to add this feature to your pages:
- Go to Left Menu > Elements > Add-Ons.
- Drag-and-drop the YouTube application onto your website.
- Apply the element on the page. A blue area on the page indicates an available position.
Once added to your webpage, click inside the element to show the preference panel to set up your YouTube video:
- In the top text field, you can enter your YouTube video URL or search by keyword to browse videos.
- If you’d like to search for a keyword—enter the word in the text field and press on the blue search button that will appear. The results will be displayed beneath the search window. You can select a video by clicking on it. To save your choice, click outside the application menu.
YouTube video sizes and other preferences
You can choose from three predefined video sizes:
- Small.
- Medium.
- Large.
You can set custom dimensions if you don’t want to use the default video size. To do so:
- Check the Custom Size checkbox.
- Enter Width and Height (in pixels).
You can also choose a page alignment for the video on the webpage:
- Left.
- Center.
- Right.
Options also exist to define how you would like the video to play. From the three checkboxes, you can choose:
- Autostart allows you to decide whether your video plays automatically when the page loads.
- Loop allows your video to play repeatedly.
- Show Player Controls allows you to choose whether the built-in YouTube controls are visible.
Please note: The YouTube application cannot be added within a Text and Image element and is designed to be added as a standalone element.
