How to modify orders in AbanteCart

In this article, we’ll show you how to modify orders in AbanteCart via the administration dashboard. 

Start by heading to Sales > Orders in the administration dashboard, then select Edit Order.

Select Order Details.

At the top of the page, you’ll see an Order Summary displaying a brief overview of the order. Navigation tabs below allow you to view full Order Details, Shipping Address, Payment Address, and Status & Comments.

Further down the page, you can view and make changes to the order in the Edit Order Details panel.

The editable fields include:

  • E-Mail – the customer’s email address.
  • Telephone – customer’s phone number.
  • Shipping Method – the selection here will vary depending on the shipping modules installed in your store. If you only have one shipping module installed, the field will not be editable.
  • Order Status – click to update the order status.

How to change order contents

Use the Edit Order Details section to add or remove products from the order or change quantities.

You can remove a product by selecting the Delete button adjacent to the product name. Other editable fields include Quantity, Unit Price, Shipping Rate and Tax.

Use the Add button below the order Total to add a discount coupon to the order manually. To add products to the order, search for the product via the Add Product(s) field.

A list of products will appear. Select the product you wish to add, enter the quantity, any options (if available) and then click the Add button.

The Save button will save your manual changes, including any price overrides. However, the Save & Recalculate button will ignore these manual values and calculate the total cost of the order according to your predetermined rules (i.e. the tax total based on the customer’s shipping address).

How to refund an order

The process for refunding orders may vary depending on the payment module(s) you have installed and the payment type selected by the customer. If your payment module allows refunds within AbanteCart, a refund button will appear in the Payment Details tab.

Alternatively, you can issue a credit note or initiate a refund from within your payment processor’s dashboard.
