Email away messages: getting started
Before we begin, please note that away messages don’t work for forwarded and alias accounts.
To create an email away message
- Click Add New Message.
- Complete the following steps underneath the screenshot below.

Message Name: This field is where you will need to enter a message name.
Respond only if: Click this drop-down menu to select which type of email away message you need. There is more than one type of email away message that you can choose:
- Any field: This option will send an auto-reply message to everyone who sends an email to the email account.
- To (an email containing): This selection will auto-reply to the email messages that are sent to a certain address. This is done by entering the words contained in the email address into the is field.
Please note: You can enter multiple words, but they must be entered and separated with commas. Please don’t leave spaces around the commas.
- CC will auto-reply to email messages that are sent to a certain address. You can enter multiple words. They must be entered with a comma separated by no spaces.
- Subject will reply to messages whose subject contains some specific text.
Now, please:
- Enter your reply to email messages by typing your message in the Away Message Text field.
- Click Create.
