Can I install XMB on our web hosting plan?
Yes. XMB is a lightweight PHP/MySQL application that runs well on shared hosting. Our shared plans include PHP 7.x–8.1 support and MySQL databases, which fully cover XMB's requirements. You don't need a VPS or dedicated server to get started.
What PHP version does XMB require?
XMB works with PHP 5.6 and above. For the best performance and security, we recommend PHP 7.4 or 8.1. You can switch your PHP version directly in cPanel without opening a support ticket.
Is XMB Message Board still actively maintained?
XMB development is community-driven and available on GitHub. The software is stable and production-ready. If you're looking for a more actively developed alternative, we also offer 1-click installs for phpBB and MyBB.
Can I upgrade my XMB installation later?
