- Social Media Marketing
Recently we explored some ways that you can take advantage of Facebook to maximize your marketing efforts. This week we will discuss how to use Facebook to promote and advertise your brand to the social media world.
- Promote your posts.
As a small business, we’re sure you want to expand your customer base. A great way to do this is to take advantage of the Promoted Posts feature on Facebook. As long as your page has 50+ likes, you will not only be able to reach out to the people who like your page but you will also be able to reach out to their friends. Basically, this feature bumps your post higher on the news feeds of the people who like your page (and their friends) compared to the old-fashioned organic way.
Now what does this mean for your business? Well, the exposure to your post will be much more than if you don’t promote it. This will encourage more likes, comments, and shares from more people. It’s like a chain reaction – the more people who engage with your post, the more people will see it come up in their own news feeds, meaning you will have reached a much wider audience than the audience you started off with. You can see this in action right from your page since it shows how many people have seen your promoted post.
Keep in mind to only promote the most important posts that you want others to see such as special offers, deals, or contests. You don’t want to promote, “Hey everyone!” because that’s not relevant or interesting and it won’t give you the results you are looking for.
- See what’s working and what isn’t with Page Insights.
The Page Insights tool is a great way to understand which posts are working and which posts aren’t. This allows you to modify and adapt your posts to get the most response and reaction from your audience. You want to know how the content you are publishing is making people react.
You can also see who likes your page and how they found you along with the demographic information of your audience. Plus, there is a component where you can see the analytics of each post and the size and engagement of your audience. This tool truly gives you a bigger picture of what your reach is and how much the people who like your page are engaging with you.
- Create Facebook Ads.
If your budget allows you to, creating Facebook ads will connect you with the right people for your business. Advertising on Facebook doesn’t have to be used only to promote your products and services. It can also be used to get more page likes, increase attendance to an event you might be organizing, promote a specific post, and much more. The possibilities are endless!
You probably have an image of the ideal customer that you want to be targeting. Once you have chosen your ad, you can specify who you want to target. Remember our Crazy Cupcakes example from our previous post? Let’s say they want to focus on females between the ages of 18 to 35 years old who live in a city and enjoy baked goods – this is possible using Facebook ads. Facebook will then show you the estimated audience size which tells you the number of people your ad can potentially reach.
You are also able to test multiple versions of your ads to see which ones work best and have the highest response rates. For example, you can change the image or what each ad says. Maybe your audience responds better with a particular image over another one or maybe they like how one ad is written over the other one. By testing multiple versions, you can clearly see what changes will get the best response rates from people.
